Butterbeer Latte

0

This Harry Potter-inspired latte has notes of butterscotch and vanilla. Easy to make. Can be served hot or iced.

A pint glass has caramel dizzled all around the inside and is filled with a light brown butterbeer latte topped with whipped cream and caramel.

If you’re a muggle like me who is trying to add a little magic into their day, I highly suggest trading in your morning coffee for a Butterbeer latte. Just one sip and you’ll be transported to Hogsmeade on a snowy-day!

It has been popular to order this at Starbucks as a “secret menu” item, but I’m going to show you how to make it at home so you don’t have to drain your Gringott’s account just for a cup of coffee!

Ingredients

A bottles of toffee nut syrup, vanilla bean syrup, caramel, milk, and whipped cream on a black background next to a small bowl of coffee beans.
  • Espresso – I make a double shot of espresso using my Delonghi machine. You can substitute strongly brewed coffee instead.
  • Milk – Whole milk lends the best flavor to this drink, but you can use any milk you’d prefer.
  • Caramel – I use Ghirardelli caramel sauce for all my lattes.
  • Syrup – The butterbeer flavor will come from toffee nut and vanilla bean syrup.
  • Whipped Cream – Totally optional, but whipped cream helps make this latte extra creamy and delicious.

Tips

  1. Adding a cold foam to the top makes it even more like a real butterbeer.
  2. Adjust the amount of syrup to your personal preference. I like about half as much as this recipe calls for because I don’t like a really sweet coffee, but some people prefer even more!
